Specialist Backlight Banner Printers

Backlit Banner requires a special printer and print setting to achieve the best possible results from your design. A higher density of ink is required than for normal frontlit banner.

Professional Specification Finishing

Different types of backlit frame will require different finishing specifications for your Backlit Banner. We have included the most common specifications in the ordering options, but please advise if yours differ.

Most frame systems simply require an excess of material all round. Some, however, require eyelets, sleeve pockets or keder strip. Please check the finishing specifications for your backlit frame. Check our Guide to Pole Pockets on Banners.

Frequently Asked Questions Back to top

Will you pre check my artwork?

As a safeguard we do check all files for size and print quality, but it is your responsibility to check that your files are correct before uploading.

Can you supply banners with Keder?

Yes. We can supply banners with Keder. As this is not our standard finishing you will need to email us for a quote.

Will you ship in plain wrap?

Certainly. You can be assured that no parcels from banner world will be branded. All items leave in plain packaging.

Will there be folds in my banner from transportation?

Banners under 2.5m will be sent on a roll so will have no creases. Banners that are larger than this will be folded. Please be aware that larger banners will have creases in the material which will fall out over time. If you require a larger banner which isn’t folded please contact us for a quotation as we can arrange a special shipping method at additional cost.

What type of eyelets do you use on your backlit banners?

We use nickel plated silver coloured eyelets with 12mm centre holes spaced evenly every 500mm approximately unless otherwise stated.

Is this banner material fire rated?

Yes this material is fire rated and complies with fire regulations. Click here to download the safety cert.

What is the maximum size you can do in one piece?

Our machines print on rolls up to 5 metres in width. Larger banners can be welded together in sections – so there is no limit. Huge banners in exposed locations though are better on our Mesh banner material.  i.e A banner at a size of 10m x 5m would be produced in one piece as the smallest dimension is 5m or less.  Where as a banner at 10m x 6m would have one welded join as the smallest dimension is larger than 5m.

Will welded joins be visible?

Due to the backlight illumination and the overlap of the welded joins they will be more visible than those joins on a non illuminated banner.

Will the colours appear washed out when illuminated

Due to the nature of backlight illumination the colours will appear stronger when its not illuminated. Therefore it is important when designing your banners to make your colours a bit stronger / darker on the artwork to compensate. To combat the issue of passing light through the banner we use latex printing technology on backlight banners to give as strong a colour depth as possible.
