Alternative Banner Products

Express Banners are of course, ideal as an inexpensive advertising medium, producing a high-quality print that lasts and at a low price. Here are some alternatives for you to consider.

Event Banner

Our event banner is printing using the same method as our premium banner. We use lower grade PVC material, which is ideal for short term applications. Sizes are limited to 2.5m in one dimension.

Double-Sided Blockout Banner

For double-sided banner printing, we use our 650 block-out banner material. This material also benefits from a blackout liner which prevents light show-through.

Mesh Banner

Larger and more exposed banners will act as a giant sail when the wind hits. Standard PVC banners can rip from its eyelets. The wind will cause damage to the banner and sometimes the structure it is fitted. Mesh PVC and Fabric materials benefit from thousands of tiny holes which allow some wind to pass through, thus reducing wind loading.

Fabric Banners

We offer a wide range of polyester and cotton based fabrics suitable for internal and external banners. Fabric material benefits from looking better, being much lighter (from 115gsm) and from being more environmentally-friendly. Fabrics are printed using our dye-sublimation process, which produces stunning rich hues and vibrant, eye-popping colours.

Banner Design Tips

Get your banner size right

You can design your banner at actual size or to scale, depending on the software you use. Ensure that your final print file will scale up in proportion to the size of the banner you have ordered.

Allow for Eyelets or Pole Pockets in your design

Ensure that no critical information is within 100mm of the edge of your banner design, this allows room for eyelets, hems and other finishing options. Background images and graphics are ok, be wary of text, numbers and logos.

Set your artwork to CMYK

Set your artwork to CMYK, as this matches the print process. If your artwork is in RGB mode, the colours may not come out as expected.

Colour Matching

Colour matching to Pantone references is possible, but may take longer and will incur an extra charge. Files including Pantone colours will be converted to CMYK unless you specify a colour match in your order.

Design Principles

Banners are first and foremost an advertising medium. The information displayed should be clear to read – consider how far away your target audience will be. If your banner viewing distance is far away, then the contrast should be high, and typefaces need to be legible. If you try to cram too much information onto a banner, then the text may end up too small to read!

PVC Banner Fitting Methods

Banner Tension Frame

Traditionally used for flex face or illuminated backlit banners, there are now many low-profile banner tension frame systems on the market. Some allow the fast changeover of banners for seasonal promotions. These frames tension the banner like a drumskin, giving a robust sign effect.

Wall Screws

Typically long length screws can be used, with large penny washers over the eyelets to protect the banner. It is vital to achieving the proper tension on banners fitted by this method – too loose and the wind will cause the flag to flap and affect hems and eyelets.

Bungee Ties

Install your fixing points first. Once you have installed the fixing points, you can then use bungee clips or ties can be used to attach to the banner eyelets. This method tensions the banner as well as allowing some ‘give’ when the wind hits, thus protecting hems and eyelets.

Wire Frame & Bungee

A steel wireframe can be run through eye bolts approximately 300mm outside the banner. Once the wire is tensioned, the banner can be fitted using a zig-zag of bungee cord. Bungee gives the effect of a trampoline on its side, tensions the banner and allows some ‘give’ for high winds.

Portable Banner Display Solutions

We stock a variety of compact, easy-to-use, outdoor banner display solutions. These are ideal for outdoor events or special forecourt promotions.

Is your process automated or will you check my artwork?

We will endeavour to make sure your artwork is checked for quality and sizing issues, but please be aware that it is your responsibility to upload correct artwork.

Yes. All items we produce will be sent under plain wrap with no mention of Banner World.

Yes it is. Upload all your files then let us know your quantities in the additional information box.

Can you print a banner larger than 1.25m in both dimensions?

No. One dimension would need to be less than 1.25m. The maximum print / roll width is 1.25m. For larger banners please look at our Premium PVC Banner.

On our express banners we use Nickel plated eyelets with 11mm diameter holes. Eyelets are spaced approx every 500mm unless otherwise stated.

No. On our quick turnaround products pole pockets are not possible because of the additional finishing times.

Can I use the banners more than once, i.e. for future events if stored away?

Yes they can be used on more than one event providing they are stored correctly when not in use. Rolled up in a dry location in between events. Are these banners suitable for long term use?

The material used for these banners is a 450gsm laminated banner designed to be quick short term solution. However there is no reason that you won’t get 1-2 years used out them if fitted correctly with plenty of tension to prevent wind damage.

No this is not possible on this product due to additional finishing times. For larger banners have a look at our event banner or premium PVC banner.

2. Email us with a breakdown of what you want to order along with the artwork and your billing & shipping address. One of our sales team will then email a quote back to you. on approval of this quote a pro forma invoice will be issued.

Buying banners in confidence

You can buy from Banner World with confidence. Your job will go through several checks before manufacture. Firstly when your job comes in, we check all your uploaded files and cross-reference each file against your order. At this point, if we see that artwork is incorrect or if there is a file missing we will contact you to request new artwork. Most of our banners and fabrics are manufactured at our large print factory in Europe. Our standard turnaround on items is 5-6 working days for delivery. Even though most of our ordering system has been automated, we still carry out several manual checks before processing your order. If at any point we have a question or a problem with your order you will be contacted before manufacturing.

Our processes

Please read the information below on how your order is processed. Each order goes through several checks before printing. Our file checking service is standard procedure on all orders. Checking your files means that you can place your order in confidence, knowing that we will check to make sure your order and corresponding artwork match and are correct. Anything we are not sure that we will contact you before proceeding.

What is Our Initial checking service?

When you place an online order, we will cross-reference your artwork against your order. At this point, we will check that the artwork sizes and file type match the order. We will make sure we have the correct number of artwork files for the job. At this stage, if anything appears to be incorrect, we will place the order on hold and contact you immediately.

How do we process your order?

Once we are happy with your order, we will then process it. We collate all the information for each job, including finishing and material type. The job information is then sent with your artwork to the pre-press department. Pre-press is where we will create and prepare your job for printing.

Our Pre Press and second checking service.

Pre-press refers to the stage before printing. Here your artwork is converted into the correct format for our machines and finishing processes. At this point, if something is spotted which isn’t correct or if there is a problem we will again contact you.

How do we print and track your order through the factory?

Your job is now batched together with other items on the same material. Each item has assigned to it a unique code. The code is used to track the order through our factory. The information is used to check the material, quantity and finishing information on the item. The order then goes through our print presses.

How do we finish your printed items?

Every job we produce is different to the next, whether it be size, material, shape or finishing. Your printed items will be finished as requested on your order. We automate as much of the finishing as possible, cutting down on labour costs and passing on the savings to you. The Prepress data is inputted into parts of our finishing equipment. Your graphics are now finished to your custom requirements. Each printed product is set up differently for each type of finishing process. A banner that has hem and eyelets will be manufactured and produced in a different way to a flag with a pole pocket.

How are your items packed?

We have now manufactured your items. The finishing pieces now move onto the packing department. At the packing stage, we collate your order. Items get checked off against the order using the order code system. The printed goods get wrapped and packed, ready for despatch.

How do you ship my goods?

Now your item has been packed it is ready to be shipped. From placing your order, your goods have taken approx 24-48 hours to get to this stage. We have a logistics team which arrange the shipping through UPS. Our standard delivery (£15 or free over £250) will now take an additional three days to be delivered to an address on UK mainland and most of mainland Europe. Our standard shipping will travel via road and sea to reach the UK. We do offer a faster 1-day shipping method which is our 4-day turnaround service. The fast turnaround service is expensive on low-value bulky orders and is more cost-effective on higher volume jobs. Items to the US and other worldwide destinations will take longer to be delivered. For items going to Ireland, the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish highlands etc. please add an extra day onto delivery times
